On a blustery and fluky day, ten boats competed for the GP 14 Open for 2017.
Phil Quarry and crew Daniel Quarry won the event with Simon Fletcher and John Cookson in second place and Andy Allan and Elaine Bethell in third position. Congratulations to all sailors for a close and competitive event.

In variable winds the May Day Pursuits attracted eight boats. Ralph Webb and Mik Neville
dominated the GP class to win handsomely. Neil Spokes won the Menagerie class race
but we could do with a few more boats in the future to challenge him.

Why not come down to the water to try a pursuit race ? It's a different kind of racing which allows the slower, less experience crews to get out in front and if the winds are right , they can stay there and win.

The Easter Pennants series was sailed on Easter Monday in light and horribly variable winds. All the boats struggled at times with several practising their backward sailing skills !!
Mike Harrold and wife Linda won for the GPs. John Cookson took the Laser class trophy and Commodore Neil Spokes sailed away with the Menagerie class.
Good day- pity about the lack of wind.
