Ladies Who Sail

Whilst TSC is an amazing place to sail in the beautiful Severn Valley, it also provides the opportunity to meet friendly, like minded people who want to enjoy the sport a little further afield.  This weekend I had the opportunity to do just that!

Fantastically organised by fellow TSC member Elaine, we travelled down to Hamble to spend 2 days on a DuFour 405 yacht.   Not being a great dinghy sailor, I was a little apprehensive about going on the sea but how wrong I was.  In the capable hands of our instructor and skipper on Day 1, Jonathan, I had the opportunity to be a useful crew member having a go, in my own time, at all basic aspects of sailing a yacht.  Elaine skippered on Day 2 and Jonathan sat back and observed the crew who had all progressed even in this short space of time.

Whilst the winds were light both days, we had a great time sailing amongst the many different vessels on the Solent and seeing some beautiful aspects of the South coast and the Isle of Wight. We can’t wait for the next one!
