RYA Adult Sailing Scheme Levels 1 and 2 Provisional

Our Adult courses follow the RYA Sailing scheme, and cover those with no experience to sailing competently.

Level 1 is designed for those who have no experience, and in the space of a few sessions will have you sailing a boat independently. Taught in double-handed boats in groups of 2 or 3 with an Instructor, you are given step by step guidance to developing your confidence and skill.  

Level 2 builds on the skills obtained at Level 1, particularly focussing on boat handling skills, basic technical knowledge and the sailing types and options you may wish to participate in. 

We run the courses as a 3-hour session on Saturday morning (9.00am - 12.00am) over the course of 4-6 weeks for each level. This allows us to obtain the minimum teaching time required (16 hours), whilst maintaining flexibility for attendance.

Membership is the full individual membership. Family Membership for the same periods will be provided if junior courses are booked at the same time), and permits participation in all Club activities, sailing and social.
