The Winter Icicle racing series begins on Saturday, January 7th for GP14s and on Sunday January 8th for the Laser class.

In the GP14 class Mike and Linda Harrold won the Monthly Shield for December. They have sailed, whatever the weather, and fully deserve this award. Well done ! There were no qualifiers in the Laser Class.
A riot of red, often portly Santas, two Christmas parcels, Santa’s elf and Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer were among about thirty club members who attended a very successful Christmas lunch and festive sailing at the weekend. A Christmas Pudding Race involved Lasers and GPs accumulating ” pudding points ” by being first past each buoy…
We have had some very light winds over the past few weeks, leading to many races either not being sailed or abandoned. Nevertheless we have managed to find some intrepid sailors who were to prepared to battle through force 0 to 1 winds. Mike and Linda Harrold have had a particularly good series of races…
Thanks to all members who took part in the recent work party. There was plenty of lopping, cutting, raking, brushing. edging, cleaning, dusting, sweeping, trimming , etc. ,etc All we need now is some decent wind !!

This year’s Millennium Trophy is on Sunday 1 January and is open to all classes of boats. First race at 11.30. Three races with two to qualify. Awards for overall winner in each class plus handicap winners. Award to Best Newcomer and Junior Crew.
