GP14 Open Results

So a couple of weeks ago TSC held it’s GP14 open. The Trimpley winds made a special appearance as per usual, frustrating our home sailors just as much as the visitors. Nevertheless a great days racing was had by all and we would like to thank our visiting sailors for making the trip.

TSC’s Carl Jeffs crewed by Jim Toothill won the event with Phil Quarry crewed by Jon Harper, also from TSC, coming in second. John Solomonson and Shona from South Staffs SC came in third.

J.B Smith 2008 Results

A layer of snow greeted our intrepid sailors on Sunday for what proved to be a day of changing weather and exciting sailing. Five boats took to the water for a 2 hour race in bright sunshine, followed by squalls, snow flurries, sunshine, squalls, flat calm and at times a combination of all these conditions.

Laser Open Results

This years Laser Open meeting (part of the Midlands Grand Prix circuit) hosted at TSC took place in some frustrating wind conditions, yet provided some exciting close racing throughout the fleet. Visitor Richard Bennet from Staunton Harold SC took the main title, with TSCs own Tom Fletcher coming in second. Russel Lewis from Barnt Green SC was placed third and took the Masters title. J.B Smith Results

On Sunday TSC hosted our second special event of the new season, the re-scheduled J.B Smith Trophy. This event is in the format of one 2-hour race open to all classes. Awards are for Line Honours and Handicap, with each entrants handicap doubled in order to adjust for the longer race.
With 7 GP14’s, 6 Laser’s and 2 Toppers on the water in some gusty conditions, ex-commodore Simon Fletcher, crewed by Gill Caldicott, took the Line Honours after a thrilling finish in the GP14 class. The...read more
