Mayday Pursuit Results

May 3rd, 2011

Well its good to  have a sport where a bit of extra weight can get you results!

With a stiff planing easterly breeze with strong sudden gusts, the fleet of Gp14′s and Lasers were  fully tested on Monday 2nd and some breakages resulted in some early retirements. Everyone  was pleased that the results were determined after two races Everyone was too worn out   to do a third (except James Allan who  overcame his 18th birthday hangover and actually wanted to sail another race!)....read more

Handicaps Results Are Now Time Corrected

March 10th, 2011

What this means is that the familiar handicap in minutes will remain but your handicap in minutes will be converted into a time correction factor, which when appied to your race time corrects your result based on your handicap and on the length of the race.

This has the effect of giving someone who has a four minute handicap  for a one hour race, only 3 minutes for a 45 minute race and 2 minutes for a 30 minute race. This allows races to be short or long and the handicaps can be applied...read more

Winter Snowflake Racing Results

March 10th, 2011

Yes! In spite of the very cold weather, we have qualifiers for the Snowflake series which are sailed during January and February.

Max and Michelle managed to beat  Ray and Lyn in the GP14 Saturday Series. Simon and John  put in a strong bid but when racing was cancelled due to lack of wind  one day, there were not enough  races left for them to qualify.

Sunday appears to be dominated by the Laser Fleet, although Mik and Kim Neville  sailed to victory more less unchallenged in...read more

Laser Open Results

September 13th, 2010

We had an excellent turn out for the Laser open meeting this year, with 23 boats on the water; it was good to see a turn out for the radial class as well as the standard class. The Trimpley winds were kind to our visitors, remaining reasonably constant for most of the day except in a few instances. This led to some excellent, close racing throughout the fleet.

John Ling from Upton Warren managed to pull off a hatrick of wins, despite being challenged for the lead throughout the day, especially...read more

Karl and Ben Brant GP14 win

August 16th, 2010

Karl and Ben Brant have won the Sunday noon summer series. Well done. The noon series is particularly short this year  as the noon slot is used up for other activities for the rest of the season.

Karl wins the main and handicap series and in addition, the GP14 Newcomers Trophy  too

GP14 Open Results

June 8th, 2010

Sailors visiting Trimpley for the GP14 open meeting this year were greeted by dazzling sunshine, but light, shifty winds. John Solomonson (South Staffs) found some wind after the first mark to take him clear ahead, and capitalised safely bringing in the first win of the day. The second race had a much closer start with Solomonson, Gibson and Fletcher all vying for the lead. However, Solomonson was able to push through to take a second win. Race 3 was abandoned after thunderstorms made it unsafe...read more

GP14 Open Results

June 15th, 2009

With the promise light winds only four visitors made the trip down into the Severn Valley to race in the fickle winds Trimpley has a reputation for. With seven club sailors, a fleet of 11 enjoyed the warm sunshine.

Although the sailing was ‘interesting’, the experts from the other clubs were chased by the home sailors but their skills …read more

Laser Open Results

October 2nd, 2008

We now have the results for the Laser Open. We had a brilliant day on the water with sun and a constant wind, the best we’ve had at Trimpley for a long while. Needless to say the food was excellent as always and the race management team did a great job. The committee would like to thank all those involved in making the day a success. On the water we had a fleet of 6 visitors and 7 home sailors. The results are as follows: ...read more
