Mayday Pursuit Results

Well its good to  have a sport where a bit of extra weight can get you results!

With a stiff planing easterly breeze with strong sudden gusts, the fleet of Gp14′s and Lasers were  fully tested on Monday 2nd and some breakages resulted in some early retirements. Everyone  was pleased that the results were determined after two races Everyone was too worn out   to do a third (except James Allan who  overcame his 18th birthday hangover and actually wanted to sail another race!)....read more


Karl and Ben Brant GP14 win

Karl and Ben Brant have won the Sunday noon summer series. Well done. The noon series is particularly short this year  as the noon slot is used up for other activities for the rest of the season.

Karl wins the main and handicap series and in addition, the GP14 Newcomers Trophy  too


GP14 Open Results

Sailors visiting Trimpley for the GP14 open meeting this year were greeted by dazzling sunshine, but light, shifty winds. John Solomonson (South Staffs) found some wind after the first mark to take him clear ahead, and capitalised safely bringing in the first win of the day. The second race had a much closer start with Solomonson, Gibson and Fletcher all vying for the lead. However, Solomonson was able to push through to take a second win. GP14 Open 2010

This years GP14 open is on Sunday 6th June. The day consists of 3 races starting at 11am. Prizes are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd boats.

A hot lunch will be available for purchase; the menu is jacket potatoes with chilli and cheese, plus crusty bread, with cakes for pud.

With the promise light winds only four visitors made the trip down into the Severn Valley to race in the fickle winds Trimpley has a reputation for. With seven club sailors, a fleet of 11 enjoyed the warm sunshine.

GP14 Open Results

So a couple of weeks ago TSC held it’s GP14 open. The Trimpley winds made a special appearance as per usual, frustrating our home sailors just as much as the visitors. Nevertheless a great days racing was had by all and we would like to thank our visiting sailors for making the trip.

TSC’s Carl Jeffs crewed by Jim Toothill won the event with Phil Quarry crewed by Jon Harper, also from TSC, coming in second. John Solomonson and Shona from South Staffs SC came in third.

GP14 Open Meeting

June 16th, 2008

TSC will be hosting a Midland Bell GP14 open meeting on 29th June. There will be 3 races, with the first start at 11.00am.

Hot lunch will be available to purchase and there will be free refreshments on arrival. Entry for the event is £8. Visitors can get driving directions from our contact page.

The open meeting event is for GP14s only and entry is open to sailors from any club. The results contribute towards the Midland Bell open circuit, as organised by the GP14 class association.
