Easter Pennant Results

Big thank you to the 13 sailors and duty crew, that braved the weather, the rain was only wet not cold!

James Allen posted 2 solid wins to claim the main and Handicap prize for the Lasers

Simon Fletcher, John Cookson took the main GP prize, Mik Neville and myself claiming the handicap. I can’t help thinking we might have done better if we had not been sinking throughout the afternoon, try and remember to put the bung in next time Mik!

Easter Racing

April 2nd, 2012

Don’t forget there will be the usual series racing on Saturday and Sunday over the Easter Weekend, and special Trophy Race on Easter Monday, the Easter Pennant is 3 races on the day with results from 2 races required to qualify, open to Bugs, Toppers, Lasers and GP14′s.

For those who want to free sail there is plenty of room on the lake for all, so don’t be put off

Duty Swaps Have Moved Online

Now available in the members area is a small web app to help you arrange duty swaps with other members. If you need to swap a duty, sign in to the members area and find the “Swap A Duty” box. Fill in the details, click submit, and we’ll send out an email to all members with your request.

RYA Coaching Days

We have some very exciting news; later this year we have an RYA racing coach coming to the club to provide some expert tuition on various aspects of sailing, to get you around the course faster.

For GP14s (and any other double handers) come down on Saturday 24th March for you dedicated training session. Lasers and other single handers, your session will be Sunday 13th May.

Security Warning

We have been advised this morning that Blithfield SC (Rugeley) was raided last night and had all of their RIB engines stolen. Please be reminded that it is good practice to ensure you boat and trailer is secured to the ring cable with sturdy lock and chain. This attack appears to have been targeting outboard engines but I think is only a matter of time before the scrap collectors latch onto the fact the that boatyards contain large quantities of steel and aluminium. Autumn series results now available

GP racing on Saturday continues to hold up well with four qualifiers for the Saturday Series. This time Ray Drury  and Chris Rees lost out  with Jeff Halford and new boy Ben Cookson as Crew putting in some excellent late results enabling them to discard some of the poorer earlier results and win both main and handicap series.
